Freeway Reopened After a Gas Tanker Accident
The turnpike in Pennsylvania was closed last night due to a violent overturned truck accident in Westmoreland County. The highway patrol reported that a tanker traveling east bound on the turnpike flipped over at around Mile Marker 75. The accident happened in the New Stanton Area. The truck operator was rescued from the wreckage and rushed to an area hospital. At the current moment there is no status on the injuries on the truck driver
The Pennsylvania Highway Patrol Officers is still trying to figure how the accident occurred. The roadway has currently been reopened before morning rush hour. It took fire rescue and clean up crews several hours to clean up the spilled fuel that covered the roadway where the accident.
