Driver Badly Injured in an Accident on Route 22
Pennsylvania Highway Patrol is investigating a terrible wreck in the early morning hours on a freeway in Derry Township, Pennsylvania. One of the accident victims was flown by rescue helicopter to the County General Hospital with severe injuries. The accident happened around 12:30 in the morning where Route 22 intersects with Rushwood Road in Derry Township.
Patrol says a truck loaded with cement heading westbound crashed with a car headed eastbound. The victim of the car had to be extricated from the automobile. There's no word on the driver's exact injuries. The operator of the cement truck was not hurt. Emergency crews spent about four hours cleaning up spilled fuel along the roadway. State police are bringing in an accident survey team to figure out what caused the horrible crash.
